About the Programs
The Amputee and Musculoskeletal (MSK) Medicine Fellowship provides the opportunity to sharpen skills in multiple areas. The Central Virginia VA Health Care System is one of seven Regional Amputation Centers (RAC) nationwide, offering the highest level of amputee care within the VHA.
Fellows rotate through inpatient services and outpatient clinics with different providers for an extensive, thorough educational experience in the following areas:
- Amputee care
- Inpatient services
- Outpatient services
- Pain management
- Wound care
- Prosthetic prescription
- Telehealth
- MSK procedures, with and without ultrasound machines
- Orthobiologics
- Adaptive Sports
- Peripheral nerve stimulator placements
We also encourage fellows to collaborate with faculty members on research efforts, with the opportunity to publish.
