The VCU Center for Rehabilitation Sciences and Engineering brings together researchers, clinicians, rehabilitation specialists and academicians from the VCU schools of Medicine, Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Education, Engineering and Social Work to promote research, education, physical medicine and rehabilitation services, and clinical care for America’s veterans, children and adults with disabilities. This site offers resources and initiatives aimed at improving the health, functional ability and quality of life of persons who experience a disability.

Our research programs at the VCU Center for Rehabilitation Sciences and Engineering are a four-school, nine-department, 67-member, interdisciplinary consortium with more than $25 million a year in grant and contract research sponsorship in all areas of disability research, resulting in more than 50 publications and 200 presentations a year. CERSE brings together researchers, clinicians, rehabilitation specialists and academicians from the VCU schools of Medicine, Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Education, Engineering and Social Work to promote research, education, physical medicine and rehabilitation services, and clinical care for America’s veterans, children and adults with disabilities.
